-
The themes addressed in this class include postural organization, connectedness to your core, breathing awareness, down regulation of the vagus nerve ( calming down the fight or flight response) and general stability.

COREctive Yoga
COREctive Yoga is designed for patients who are feeling better and want to start testing the outer limits of the activity while still having the watchful guidance of a physical therapist.
-
Corective Yoga is traditional yoga with a twist. It is lead by a certified yoga instructor. The instructor will lead you through the class. During this time, a physical therapist will be observing the class. Anyone who is having difficulty achieving a pose, or is feeling pain can ask the physical therapist for help. You will be brought to a treatment table at the back of the room or perhaps receive treatment right at your place on the floor. You will then be able to retest the difficult or painful pose ( which should now not be difficult) and then get right back into the session.
-
Yes, right now you do need to be a patient in order to participate. We are considering an open Corective Yoga class in the future.
-
If we participate with your insurance then we can use your insurance for this class as well. If you are a self pay patient, the cost of the class is $65 for the hour.
