How is Core Physical Therapy Different?
Hello! Welcome to Core Physical Therapy! Core Physical Therapy prides itself on offering rehabilitation services that are considerably advanced and effective for the treatment of arthritis, chronic pain, recurrent injuries, vertigo, and difficult to treat back pain. The difference with Core Physical Therapy is that we use an extensive and open evaluative process in order to discover the causative factor to your pain, rather than solely address the pain itself. This idea of getting to the core to help correct a dysfunction that causes pain, created the name and mission of Core Physical Therapy.
The treatment strategy is exciting and progressive. Techniques are specific to your dysfunction and may include massage, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, strain counter strain, muscle energy technique, joint mobilization, neural tissue tension techniques, neuromuscular techniques, treatment of Chapman's reflexes, orthotic fabrication, deep tissue massage, specific and progressive exercise, postural exercises, frequency specific microcurrent (FSM), medicupping and most importantly education.
We believe that the patient is the best therapist and we work with you to discover the root cause of your pain. We will explain to you how your body works and attempts to compensate around old injuries and illnesses. By correcting those compensations, your pain will decrease and mobility and function will improve. It is the goal to reduce tight tissues, subluxed joints and spasms and therefore, improve the body's ability to perform physiologically. Physical therapy can not help tissues that are irreversibly damaged such as a torn ligament or severed nerves. Core Physical Therapy can however, improve the function of neighboring areas to provide better function by decreasing the workload of the permanently damaged area.
Our patients typically enjoy the common sense approach to treatment and often witness immediate benefits. Most often patients are discharged feeling better than before they were injured or developed their complaint.
We look forward to helping you regain a healthy and pain free body. Your first appointment will be 1 hour in length. The first part of your appointment will be dedicated to the evaluation of your symptoms. The second part is dedicated to treatment. You should dress comfortably, preferably in shorts and a loose fitting T-shirt.
